Toms Yankie Kokosskum chocolate bar

Yankie Kokosskum is a coconut-flavored variant of the iconic Danish Yankie Bar. Originally created in 1946 by the Danish confectionery company Toms, the brand was developed at the request of the United States high command in post-WWII Germany. American soldiers stationed there missed the chocolate bars from home, and Toms agreed to manufacture a similar style of bar in exchange for cocoa beans, which were scarce at the time. The name 'Yankie' was a playful tribute to the American soldiers (Yankees).

The Kokosskum version features a light and airy coconut-flavored nougat foam topped with a layer of soft caramel, all coated in smooth milk chocolate. It remains a staple of Danish candy culture and is primarily manufactured at Toms' facilities in Denmark. Today, the brand is part of the Toms Group (Toms Confectionery Group A/S), which is ultimately owned by the Gerda and Victor B. Strand Foundation, ensuring that the company remains under Danish control and contributes to charitable causes.
