Tupperware is one of the most iconic brands in the history of household storage, originally founded in the United States by chemist Earl Tupper in 1946. The brand became a global phenomenon through its unique 'party' direct-sales model. For decades, it operated a major manufacturing and distribution network across Europe, with a key facility located in Aalst, Belgium, as indicated on the packaging.

In recent years, the company faced significant financial challenges, leading to a Chapter 11 bankruptcy filing in late 2024. Following this restructuring, the brand was acquired by Party Products LLC, an entity formed by the company's lenders. As part of a recovery strategy entering 2025 and 2026, many European manufacturing plants, including those in Belgium and Portugal, were slated for closure or restructuring, with a greater emphasis on manufacturing hubs in Mexico to supply global markets. Additionally, in early 2026, a significant deal was reached to sell the Latin American operations and license the brand name in that region to Betterware de México (operating under the holding name BeFra).
