O'Donnell Moonshine Very Cherry liqueur

O'Donnell Moonshine is a brand inspired by the American Prohibition era, specifically named after Edward 'Spike' O'Donnell, a famous gang leader from Chicago. Despite the American branding and history, the company was founded in Berlin, Germany, in 2014 by August Ullrich and Philip Morsink. After being inspired by the heritage of moonshine during a trip to the United States, the founders began distilling liqueurs at home before launching the brand professionally.

The product is famously bottled in traditional Mason jars, a nod to the vessels used by illegal distillers in the 1920s to evade authorities. While the brand has a strong presence in the UK with a dedicated subsidiary based in Manchester, the actual production and bottling of the liqueurs take place in Berlin, Germany. The company remains privately owned by its original founders through their parent company, O'Donnell Moonshine GmbH.
