yfood is a German brand that revolutionized the meal replacement category with its 'This is Food' campaign. Founded in Munich in 2017, the company produces nutritionally complete drinks, bars, and powders. The brand gained significant attention through the German television show 'Die Höhle der Löwen'.

While originally an independent startup, yfood entered into a strategic partnership with Nestlé in 2023. Nestlé acquired a minority stake (approximately 49.5%), making it the most significant ultimate owner alongside the original founders. Manufacturing is primarily concentrated in the DACH region (Germany, Austria, Switzerland) to maintain high quality standards for their dairy and plant-based formulations.
