The Yankie Bar is a classic Danish chocolate bar introduced in 1946 by Toms Confectionery Group A/S. It features a combination of soft toffee and nougat foam, enrobed in milk chocolate. The name 'Yankie' was chosen as a nod to the American soldiers stationed in Germany after World War II, who were familiar with similar chocolate bars from home. The recipe has remained largely unchanged since its inception, maintaining its status as a beloved treat in Denmark. Toms Confectionery Group A/S continues to produce the Yankie Bar, along with other variations such as Yankie Almond, which includes chopped, roasted almonds. The company is headquartered in Denmark and remains the sole owner of the Yankie Bar brand.
